WHAT’S NEW IN XPRESS PRO HD ■
AVX 2.0 Support
Xpress Pro HD supports the new AVX 2.0 category of effects, which consists of third-
party effects vendors like Boris FX and others.
Marquee Titles
Xpress Pro HD utilizes the Marquee title system (see Figure A.5). In many cases (espe-
cially with HD video), the Marquee titler is more suitable for graphics in Xpress Pro
than the Title tool. The interface is more robust, the 3D capabilities work well, and
you can even use the new AutoTitler, which takes a text document and treats it much
like a database—inserting repetitive titles from text editing in an instant.
Marquee, which was originally a Windows-native application, has now been
ported to Macintosh and is available for Xpress Pro HD use on either platform.

Film Enhancements
Xpress Pro HD now supports 3-perf film. Previously, 3-perf was difficult to manage
and was not compatible. Now the system not only supports this format but also
reflects those changes in FilmScribe.
Another film enhancement that is brand new is that Xpress Pro now allows for
mixed film gauges within the same sequence. This is a new function that was added
primarily for documentaries and any programs in which mixed gauges of film are used.
