CHAPTER 3: BASIC EDITING ■
Controller These settings are for a DigiDesign Control 8 (see Figure 3.30), used for
controlling audio playback and missing with Audio Automation. The Control 8 needs
a control port (such as RS-422) and is an amazing interface for mixing and fading
audio without accessing the GUI.

Correction The Correction settings (see Figure 3.31) are used for determining color
sampling amounts and for the Autocorrection feature, which is a simple tool for
color match and color correction.

Interface Interface controls (see Figure 3.32) in Xpress Pro are fairly extensive and fun
to use. These settings allow you to change the color scheme for the interface, show
tooltips, use tool icons, change the shading of buttons, tweak shading patterns, alter
button styles, and do other fun stuff. These settings (obviously) don’t affect perform-
ance of the system, although they can affect how well you can see and work on the
interface. Be sure to try out some of the color schemes. It really makes the system look
and feel like your own.
Keyboard In Xpress Pro, the keyboard settings (see Figure 3.33) allow you to remap the
keyboard to a custom configuration when used with the Command palette (Ctrl+3/F+3).
After you’re up to speed on Xpress Pro, you can map the most-used keys to the key-
board for more efficient operation of the system.
