5. Choose Clip > Create New Sequence in your menus. A new sequence will be cre-

ated (see Figure 4.33).

6. Name this sequence Bars and Tone.

Now that we have a sequence, let’s put in the media. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click the menu to the right of the audio meters in your Timeline and choose

Create Tone Media (see Figure 4.34).

2. We want Tone Media to be at –20dB, tone frequency at 1000 Hz, and the dura-

tion in seconds to be at 60.

3. Below this appears the target bin selection where the tone media will be created.

Make sure that Bars and Tone is selected.

4. You also have the option of changing the target drive where the tone media will

be placed.

5. After you’ve made your decisions, click OK. The tone media is then created. If

there is not enough room on the selected drive, the system will tell you.

Next, we’ll import bars. Follow these steps:

1. Click anywhere on the Bars and Tone bin.

2. Choose File > Import. The Import menu will be opened.

3. Make sure that Graphic Documents is selected as file type. Then set your

options for graphics to 601 aspect and 601 color levels.
